Vale Lightning

This afternoon, when I went to clean the guinea pig cages, I found Lightning had passed away in his (and Peanut Thunder's) cage. He was 6 years and somewhere between 1-2 months.

Remaining "family" members are Peanut Thunder (4 years) and Moonbeam (about 5 years).

His favorite activity was begging for treats. He particularly liked to sit with me (specifically on my "shelf") and share a pomegranate.

You can read his story on this post: http://citygirlinaredneckworld.blogspot.com/2008/06/lightning.html

Rest in peace, my dear little friend.

My friend June made me this mug about 2 years ago. I'm really glad that I have it, since he will never be forgotten now.

Awww, I'm sorry. =( It's a terrible feeling to go to the cage to get a little guy out and realize he died in the night.

I am so sorry to hear about lightning's passing. I am sure my sweet little Miss Rudy was there to meet him at the rainbow bridge. They are running and bucking and eating all their favorite treats now. There is an endless supply of pomegranite and green peppers for them to snack on whenever they want. They happily play and wait, anxiously for when we will join them some day!!

Hugs to you!

It is so sad to lose a pet. I am just so glad you have 2 more "piggies" to keep you - and each other - company. I have read that a sole cagemate survivor will sometimes die of a broken heart (sob)! But that if there are 2 or more survivors they help each other thru.

My son (12) and I have an all black guinea - Shadow - who will be 6 in December. She does not have any cagemates, and I cannot bear to think about our losing her, although I know that a 8 to 9 year life cycle is about as long as a guinea pig gets on this earth, at the very longest! So, six years is a long time, indeed!

Our good thoughts are with you! Take care. Peace.

I'm so sorry. It sucks when pets pass on. Big time.

Sorry to come back and hear about your sad news. I know how easy it is to get attached to little pets! A1 got a hamster for his birthday in July and some lady was pretty much giving one away one day in the Wal-Mart parking lot a couple of months ago so now A2 has one of his very own and he is so good with him to only be 3.

On a lighter note.....W00T!! on the baby news!! How exciting is that??!! Good thing I came back when I did. Wouldn't want to miss this.
